Reactions so far...
- Simms - hugged him and told him that was so great
- Jeter - jumped up and down exclaiming with excitement "now you will go to heaven with me!!! Now we can both pray for Brady" This would be their cousin who just turned one. Not that I am discouraging them from praying...just prepping them that it may be awhile.
- Lil' sis - after thinking that he was asking to play with his cousin, heard it the second time and told him how special and wonderful that was with tears in her eyes.
- Grammie and Poppy - on separate phone conversations both got it after the 2nd or 3rd time he declared his news. Very happy to say the least.
- Dawson - pretty much the same as Grammie and Poppy
In Barber's and their (lil' sis, Dawson, Grammie and Poppy) defense, the news was being shared via the phone. Family outside of PA may find out via this post (if they actually read it) or when we talk next on the phone!
The best part is that I can see a change in Barber. For example, tonight, after I prayed, he wanted to pray...all by himself. Apparently he is a big boy now and doesn't need Mommy's help anymore! He prayed for over 5 minutes straight tonight! He first prayed for Mommy, Daddy and Jeter. Then Papa and Mima, then Uncle EC and Aunt KC, then Grammie and Poppy and finally lil' sis, Dawson and Brady. He prayed for Jesus to help all of us (I guess we all could use more of His help!) and then prayed specifically for Jesus to heal Mima's back and also to make Poppy all better. So...if you think your kids aren't paying attention to everything you do and say...this is proof that they do. No, he doesn't know what a herniated disc or cancer is but he has heard us pray and now he is too!
